The inventor of the Pringles can, Fred Baur, was so proud of his creation that he had part of his ashes buried in one. After his death in 2008, his family honored his request by placing some of his remains in an original flavor Pringles can and burying it alongside a traditional urn. Baur, who was a chemist, designed the iconic can in 1966 to keep chips fresh and unbroken—a design so enduring it remains virtually unchanged today.
