🧠 The Daily Fact #25

There’s a species of bat in Southeast Asia, called the lesser short-nosed fruit bat, that uses its poop as a kind of "seed bomb." These bats eat fruit, and the seeds pass through their digestive systems intact. When they poop, they effectively plant trees and other plants, often far from the original source. This poop-powered reforestation makes them key players in maintaining their ecosystems. Amazingly, a single bat can disperse thousands of seeds in a single night!
