🧠The Daily Fact #2
Here’s a quirky fact for today:
Octopuses have three hearts—and they all have different jobs! Two hearts pump blood to the gills, where oxygen is absorbed, while the third heart pumps it to the rest of the body. But there’s a catch: when an octopus swims, the heart pumping blood to the body actually stops beating. This is part of why octopuses tend to prefer crawling rather than swimming—they get tired quickly when all that cardio isn't working!
Nature’s way of saying even eight-armed geniuses need a break.
