In one study, ravens watched as a researcher hid food in various places, then days later, they still remembered every hiding spot. Even more remarkably, ravens appear to plan for the future: they’ve been observed saving useful items for later and trading tokens for treats in lab settings, a behavior that suggests a level of foresight previously thought unique to humans and a few primates.
